Voices Unchained
(May 2025)
An exhibition organized by Luna in Berlin to give Tony Egbuna Ford, Obie Weathers, and Charles Dean Hood a space — a protected, sacred space where they could be heard, seen, and deeply felt.
This exhibition was more than just art.
It was an act of remembrance.
Of justice. Of resistance through beauty. It featured not only the powerful artworks and voices, but also a guest contribution by Jens Söring who spoke from lived experience about the death penalty and the U.S. justice system. We were also gifted with a spontaneous dance performance by Philip Hudgson Dorrel whose movement wove spirit and body into the space like a ritual — raw, instinctive, honest.
The atmosphere throughout the Pandora Art Gallery was unlike anything I’ve experienced before:
deeply emotional, electric, tender and confrontational all at once.
'All Eye See’, ‘Texas Habit’, ‘Chained to My Inner Conflict’, ‘Eye of Amy’, ‘Azure’, ‘Lost Soul II’, ‘The Barbarian’:
Tony's artwork is not just art but a declaration.
The art had to breathe.
The art had to speak not just to the eyes, but to the soul.
When people walk through the room,
they don’t just see.
They feel.
